jonah's bff

Jonah and I were reading a kid's magazine tonight and it had an article about friends. It went something like this:

Name a friend who...
- is taller than you
- makes you laugh
- has long hair
- is good at sports
- likes to dress up
- likes ice cream
- likes to draw
- has a pet

Jonah's answer to every single question was, "Soren." Even the last one, though she doesn't have a pet. His answer was, "Well, Soren doesn't have a pet."

Then it asked who his best friend is. He said Soren was his best friend because, "She's nice. She doesn't hit me. I like to play with her with her toys. She likes me and I like her."

I found a picture of the first time Soren and Jonah met. She doesn't seem to be too impressed with him:

Now entering the blogosphere, my wonderful sister Casandra (who is married to my soon-to-be-a-kindergarten-teacher-baby-brother Jed).

Oh, and it's our adorable niece Kylie's birthday today. Happy birthday, Kylie! We love you. Annie welcomes you to the ranks of fivedom.

christmas brunch

Our small group had a brunch last Saturday with a gift exchange for the kids and a white elephant exchange for the grown-ups. We LOVE our small group and had the best day eating, laughing, eating, and crashing on Steve & Michelle's couch for the afternoon while we continued to eat.

We got to hang out at the Sonics game with Erin, Samuel and Meredith on Sunday night. This has got to be one of our favorite things to do, especially when Marc hooks us up with sweet suite tickets. Ha! Seriously, it's the only way to watch a game with children. Because, it's not about watching the game as much as it's about running around, eating hot dogs and popcorn, and waiting for Squatch to come by. Jonah is still talking about the visit from Squatch, although he freaked out after running up to him. "I no high five Swatch, mommy!"
